Buddha, Mark Twain and Hippocrates recognised the importance of a healthy body is essential to good mental awareness and emotional intelligence. There is much scientific evidence showing the connection between a healthy lifestyle and a person cognitive awareness. I want bore you with the science and detail but in simple terms I will explain. 

The human brain is complex organ which supervises the complete body. The brain is composed of many different structures and substances. The molecular part of brain is made up of two cells, the nerve cells and Glia cells. The nerve cells contains an axon and synapse which conveys electrical charges. The Glia cells are the guardians of the nerve cells protecting and nourishing them. The awareness of body is controlled by this living organ the brain and blood is circulating the body straight into your brain via the spinal cord. I have explained this simplistic terms so you can now understand how we treat our body will effect both the brain and body.

Stop smoking: smoking makes the blood more likely to clot and doubles the risk of you having a stroke. If you struggle to quit, get help and support.
Moderate exercise: getting fit will help to control your weight, blood cholesterol and insulin levels, as well as lowering blood pressure.”

This is just one example how the way we treat our bodies will effect us sometimes in dramatic way. Prevention is better than cure and often is difficult to reverse the damage done. The Stroke organisation explains consequences on the body because of a small to large stroke conditions

The long-term problems caused by stroke can include:

Loss of feeling and sensation
Speech impairment
Visual problems
Difficulty with swallowing
Memory problems
Mood swings
Lack of concentration

Encourage you think as your body as a vehicle for your mind and the inner passenger wants the drive of their life. Small changes will have a BIG impact now and your future ride.
